Question

I am planning on a downpipe and centre section de-cats + ecutek for MY03 WRX. The car is standard apart from a Remus backbox. I was told recently that the Remus is too restrictive and I need to get a new box.
Experience with a Remus anyone?

What gains would I be looking at if I change the Remus?

I have a Magnex twin dump down pipe, resonated centre with the Remus backbox, and I'm very pleased with the performance increase and the satisfying, but not too loud rumble... personally I don't need the whole town to know I'm driving through it, and having spent a lot of cash on my incar entertainment I would prefer to be able to hear it!

Remus has a nice deep low tone and is not very intrusive (not much more than stock muffler).
I'm full decat and when I've switched from my Remus to a GroupN Devil (straight 63mm tube inside) I've not noticed a lot of improvement... except the noise !
I think Remus are quite good on the flowbench.

What do you guys do when you need to service it? or have warranty work done to it?

I want to change the exhaust also, but i'm slightly worried over the warranty issue

Never had any issues with servicing, it even squeezed through on the emissions during MOT

Remus back box are street legal (at least in France & Germany) and they come with the certificate. No waranty or MOT problems.
