My RB5 is currently completely standard and part of me wants to keep it pretty much that way, however I wouldn't mind giving it a bit of a voice whilst not going ott with sewer pipe sized exhausts.
My last car (a 161 bhp tuned 106 GTI) had a ram air type induction kit fitted which in addition to helping the power output also sounded awesome.
What options are there for my Scoob that fulfil my criteria of giving a (presumably only slight) increase in power and more importantly a purposeful induction noise?
Do the likes of Gruppe M do any kits for the Impreza as they do look very tasy from what I have seen of some of their other kits?
WOuld it even be worth considering a non shielded type of induction kit due to the under bonnet temps or are some of them worth a look maybe ?
Sorry for all the (undoubtedly asked before) questions.
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it might well be an option to consider.
Do you have any more details such as price and where to purchase from etc.

Cheers

The K&N 57i is generally regarded as the safest for your model (no MAF damage). I fitted one of these to my MY00 a couple of years ago and it's been fine ever since. I already had a full decat and I definitely felt it went better higher up the rev range afterwards.

Get some Samco turbo hoses as well. They allowed me to hold 1 PSI more boost.

Andy.

Stick with the O/E set up and put in a K+N panel filter. That with a good full decat exhaust and down pipe will show good torque gains and better spool. The 3" Revolution is good and at that stage of tune the O/E ECU is adequate.
If you want a little more for free then remove the snorkle in the inner wing but ensure your pannel is still breathing from the inner wing only. Anything you do to help cold air into the inner wing also helps.
Post your power gains when you have it done. Might surprise a few people.
