Weird Clutch happenings......................
#1
Guys,
I have just been driving my MY99 Turbo and had something strange happen with the clutch pedal.
I was sat in traffic out of gear and no feet on pedals and when I pressed the clutch to put it in gear and move off it felt very heavy. Then after 10 minutes of start stop action it lightned up a bit(When stopped car was out of gear and no feet on pedals). Then after 10 mins of M/Way driving when I pulled off Clutch has gone back to what it was normally.
It wasnt slipping or anything and noticed it a little harder to get into gear but that I think was just paranoya (Spelling???) but the pedal definately wasnt.
Can anyone shed some light on to any reasons why please??
Thanks in advance
Steve

Mines done that a couple of times MY00, but only when in heavy slow traffic.
I reckon it's the fluid boiling as the resovoir is right above the downpipe/turbo. The fluid should be changed as it get's water/condensation in it and this lowers it's boiling point.
I has a similar problem years ago with the ABS on a XR4x4. The ABS light would come on and you would go down to manual assistance. The Brake fluid resovoir on this was right near the exhaust manifol too. Changing the fluid stopped this from ever happening again.
Hence, why I suspect a similar thing with the Scoob. I have yet to change my fluid, as it happens so infrequently.
