Question

Just had my rear diff replaced for the second time in just over 12 months.

Is this a weak point on the car? Or am I doing something that is damaging it?

Any info appreciated, as I don't really want to replace it for a third time!

Mark.

never heard of anyone having to change a faulty rear diff with the exception of running too much torque through one whose crown wheel and pinion were poorly installed.

Only have an exhaust and filter in terms of power, so don't think it'd be that.

Got the replacement from Grade A Subaru who said it's a weak spot of the car, but am thinking I must be doing something wrong to go through 2 of them!

Cool

Maybe you could change the lubricant you are using in the diffs? My first rear diff failure appeared to be caused by overheating due to the wrong diff oil being used.
