Question

It's about time I thought about an exhaust. Down pipe and centre are more or less decided upon, however the back box is not. Just wondering what's out there for some of next month's salary cheque.

My spec is as follows:

Made from decent stainless steel with mandril bent pipework
Prefer OE look with twin pipes (For insurance purposes)
A little quieter than the "loud" old Scoobysport backbox, with a less harsh sound. I guess similar to the TSL Firestorm.

Oh and must be cheap!!

Guess I'm on to a loser here, but let's see what happens

I thought the fire storm was loud?

I run the old loud scoobysport.. I don't find it that loud though..

I think Magnex is the quietest..

Or if you change the headers then it quietens it down believe it or not but that just added 300 to 500 to the cost

The firestorm is loud, but Nic & I both like the noise It doesn't seem as harsh as some of the Scoobysports.

Not doing the headers this time!! Not made of money

Not many twin tail pipes left - Power Engineering has stopped their's - there are TSL Group N and Scoobyworld(H&S) Mach II - neither seem that popular on here though - not heard either myself.

Funny you should say that we are making quite a few twin outlet back boxs at the moment and the Amercians seem to love them. Not sure how to put a picture up so you can see one ,so will e-mail you direct.

Thanks. The pics show exactly what I'm looking for.

I'm in an unusual position with insurance - they'll let me have a SS backbox at no cost, as long as it looks like OE. (Doesn't have to sound OE )

I also like the idea of a discreet looking car, if that's possible with a Scoob!

Ian - I was looking at Mach II too. Is it similar to the original Scoobysport H&S soundwise, or is the packing and stuff different as well as the twin exit. What is the overall effect?

dnb - pls post how you get on if you go for one of these

The sound is basically the same ,maybe a touch quiter than the orginal Scoobysport back box but has still the unmistakable flat four burble.

Nic. didn't want anythign too hardcore, or I'd have had an afterburner last year!

As for the group buy - I'm interested, but I want to clear up some other jobs first.
