The oil itself is fine. Only question would be whether the engine has enough miles in her to go full synth. Take it you're over 10K?

General wisdom round here seems to be to run a semi-synth until you're into five figures. Theory is that going full synth too soon stops the engine opening out properly.

If you're on 6K5 at the moment, I'd probably put semi-synth in this time, then change to the Mobil at 10K...

Mark,
I have an STI 7 and have run it on Mobil 1 MOTORSPORT from the 1000 mile service and I ( fingers crossed ) have found it fine.

If you need any more help drop me an e-mail.

Arron.

Ditto, I've been running Mobil 1 since the 1,000 mile service. I wanted to always use the same oil and not mix them.

What sort of oil consumption should I anticipate on my MY03 WRX? My previous cars over the last few years have needed no top up at all between (long) services. However, the WRX has needed a litre at 7,000 miles, only 6,000 since the 1,000 mile service.
