03 ecu + exhaust upgrade
I'm just about to get a brand new 03 wrx from Motorpoint in Burnley (the cash saved was too much of a temptation) I phoned the local Subaru garage asking about a Prodrive PP. I got the reply that with it being an import they can't fit the PPP. I then ran Powerzone of Padiham and they'll charge £875.00 Inc vat fitted for the ecu upgrade and a Scorpion Tuner 4 exhaust. Is this a good deal, or can anyone suggest a better option.
Sounds like a superchip to me which is a bit dodgy. You're better having a full de-cat and a re-map by a good tuner. Speak to Scoobysport who will advise you accordingly or do a few serches on here. It'll cost more initially but preserve you engine!

Thanks for the input. The motorpoint warranty is for one year and not the three year warranty from Subaru. I can extend the warranty to three years but that'll cost another £700.00. By doing the mod's might void the warranty anyway. Powerzone at Padiham have been doing mods on Subaru's as well as other cars for years. But I know that there are more specialised Suberu only tuners. Can anyone sugest someone abit nearer home.
P.S. My last car was a Focus RS

yep....lol...you're in a very similar situation to one i was in a few months back. I imported my 03 WRX from Holland and saved a few grand, was then going to have the PPP fitted but was told i'd have to take the car back to Holland to have it fitted (a right pain in the ****). So I went for the full decat route with a Hayward and Scott full stainless system, ITG panel filter and an Ecutek3 remap, all done by Xtreme Scoobies. It cost me about £2k (as opposed to £1600 for the PPP) but then again I'm getting about 390 bhp rather than 260. Overall I am really, really pleased with the improved performance (and sound, and flames !!).
Do it, u wont be disappointed...plus u'll have one of the fastest MY03 WRX's around, after all everyone else goes for the PPP.

Steve, I think you may have 285-290bhp
