Kendo

There is a link on here somewhere with a wav file of a fully de-catted Firestorm system. Do a search (found in the top right of the screen).

I bought one last week and was a bit wary of getting it. (This coming from someone who went for an STi7 BB coz he thought it was loud enough ).

Honestly, you will not find a better deep burble than this zorst mate.

Ooh just found it here

I've got one on my 98 wagon.

Sounds great, it is quite loud, but very boomy inside the cabin, but being a wagon doesn't help things.

For the price of them, you cant really go wrong.

On a decatted exhaust system with no resonator in the centre

Firestorm = 98Db (Thats neighbour annoyingly loud).
HKS Hiper is same 98Db.
Blitz is a staggering 105Db :eek
Scoobysport, Heyward and Scott, TSL Group N are all around the 91Db mark.

James - we got higher than that at a local rolling road.

TSL Firestorm decatted - was around 103/105db
Blitz Nur Spec R decatted - around 118db

Buddy club is meant to be around 120db! Not 100% sure on this so loudest its between Buddy club and Blitz.

Another one to try is Impreziv's titanium backbox decatted. That is loud - louder than Firestorm.

lmao - firestorm just isnt up there with the big boys

Should have said... That was stationary at 4000rpm, which is the test that a lot of tracks will do.

Most tracks have a 98Db limit, although you can sometimes get away with 100Db. As a guide, I got kicked off the Nurburgring with a decatted Blitz (I was alowed back on once I had 'bunged' it). Hiper was no problem at all.

I'm running a full TSL decat with a firestorm box.

I personally think the noise level is just right. The neighbours might not think so at 3am in the morning.

Its the popping thats the best bit

I do like that note !!
Think i will get it,if i don't like it could always sell it on & buy a Blitz.

Also going to buy a H&S down pipe, so any suggestions for a centre section ??

Edited to say most of my neighbours probably dont like me comming home at 3am any way & leaving the GTI-R going with the turbo timer & full Mongoose exhaust which sounds like a rally car !!

Kendo

I am looking for a de-cat centre myself. I think the 220.00 that TSL want for theirs is value for money.

With having the Firestorm myself i think sticking to the same manufacturer just makes 100% sure of a good fit.

Is that how much TSL's decat centre section is! I stuck with the afterburner centre to go withmy back box and that was only £95! Whats so special about the TSL pipe?

Well happy with it Mike

Originally after averyone saying it was so loud i was a bit worried. After putting it on and hearing it i honestly think it sounds great. It has a very deep burble at low and high rev ranges and there is no rasp at all

Well pleased mate
