Question

After some advice really.

In the near future I will be changing some of my financial arrangements. I have decided that then would be a good time to go for a Link.

I have a MY96 with full Scooby Sport Decat system and ITG panel filer. What sort of ball park figures would I get from the Link and remap?

Would I have problems with the Map come MOT time and the Cat goes back on?

Will it make any differance when I come to get the car serviced at the dealer?

Cheers,

P.

240 bhp / 240 lb ft in Powerstation money

Swap the OEM ECU board back into the OEM case at MoT time, with centre CAT, to ensure both lamba and emission requirements are met

No, not unless they are trying to use a diagnostic which relies on OEM ECU

I'm not entirely sure it's worthwhile going for a replacement ECU with the kit you have, unless you plan on making more changes?
All the ECU replacement can do is allow a competent mapper to extract the most from the kit available. If the kit hasn't changed that much, it should be in the realms of the standard ECU to cope with (ie do a basic bit of 'mapping' as the MAF allows the system to adapt, to a point).
I think the MY96 should be capable of quite a bit, though? TD05 & all that . Wop on a FMIC & uprated fuel pump, then a remap (via Link) would be worthwhile
