Picking up a Prodrive WR Sport in the next week, and on the test run, I found that it had a VTA dump valve (make/model unknown).

Question is. Can these units be simply removed, or will I need to put in place a Re-Circulating one?

If I can adjust it to VTA at highish boost then that would be ideal as the smoother on boost gear changes are a bonus, the 'Max Power' noise at low speeds isn't!

Thanks.

Dump valves can be easily removed / replaced or swapped but you do need one with a standard turbo. The 'dump' can tuned with most, so you should be able to solve your problem.

Post a pic and someone will be able to identify it and probably offer advice on tuning the dump. If it's not possible to tune, you can always sell it and get a re-circ version.

Neno,

Thanks mate, that sounds all right if the follwing falls through.

Managed to speak to the garage mechanic (couldn't before) and he said that they'll tune it for me by putting in stronger springs, or by adjusting manually. He hadn't made a particular note of the valve before hand, but said it wouldn't be problem.

When I pick it up, I'll take it for a spin and see how it sounds.

I will post a pick if I'm not happy, and swap or sell etc if needed.
