Clutch "bite point" adjustment?
Any experience of adjusting the bite point of the clutch on a MY99? My clutch engages very high in the stroke and it makes smooth gear changes a bit more tricky! I would like to make it engage lower in the stroke.
Any advice would be great.
Cheers,
Ben.

I had to do the same thing but, only in reverse order! After new clutch was fitted, the bite point was right on the floor.
You need to put the seat right back, get under the steering wheel with a 12mm and 6 or 7mm (I can't remember which!) open end spanner. Undo the 12mm lock nut on the back of the pedal, and along the shaft that runs thru the bulkhead at the pedal end, there is a flat which the smaller spanner fits. You will need to shorten this rod (Anti-Clockwise)when upside down
BUT, only go in Very Small adjustments, eg; 1/4 turn at a time, then lock up the lock nut and try it. Repeat as required.
Hope you can understand my vague instructions

This is the standard Subaru service setup:
There is a bolt at the top of the pedal assembly to adjust the pedal height, it should be 145mm from the pedal rubber to the floor, you will need two 14mm spanners.
Behind the pedal is a rod that joins the pedal assy to the master cylinder, undo the locknut on it 12mm spanner and turn the rod with the flats on it with a 6mm spanner to achieve 10-15mm freeplay at the pedal rubber.
