*POSTED THIS TWICE, NEED A QUICK ANSWER*

I want to get a Forge DV for my STi 8. Which one should I get. I'm not really interested in a whooshy one but there are sooo many to choose from on the site.

Has anyone with an STi 8 fitted one?

I fitted VTA Forge on my 1st STI8 and it didn`t `cause a problem at all. Haven`t had chance to sort one out for my new STI8, don`t think I will bother!

Thumbs down

I have used one on a my01 WRX and they don't hold boost as well as the OEM valve, on general road use you probably would not notice but on track it really shows up. I had to mess around with ally' spacers provided by Forge to try to get it to hold boost. IMO don't bother.

I have only tried a Forge VTA so can not comment on the other makes. I have also read in I think the Drivetrain forum that VTA are not a good idea with cars fitted with a MAF sensor, you may want to try a search.

Question

Why change the OEM one then?

Why upgrade then? There will be zero performance benefit changing from OEM to Forge recirculating...unless your OEM is leaking..which seems unlikely on a 3 month old car.

We used to change them on the Leon Cupra's as the Forge gave better performance over the OEM. I thought this may be the case with Subaru's

I used to have an Ibiza Cupra Turbo and changed to a Forge as the OEM kept failing, Seat just wanted to keep on replacing the failed OEM unit with another crap plastic DV. I must admit on the Ibiza it did make a big difference.

It's the same with some S3 model years. With Subaru though I don't think it's an issue as they rarely leak or fail.
