Suspect you could remove your flywheel.. bolt the clutch and pressure plate onto it.. slip it on the gearbox spline and then place a piece of angle iron (cut about an inch long) or similar in the flywheel teeth and jam it on the casing?
Never tired it.. just a theory..

Sorry assumed box was out..
Remove cam covers and get on the crank bolt then.
Or remove starter motor and use angle iron to hold flywheel (just not small enough to fit down into box), 6inches long etc..

Just had a quick look through my pics..
This is taking from underneath you can see the hole in the back of the box where the startmotor came out of..
You can just about see the teeth of the flywheel.
Of course you have to remove intercooler and startmotor.. doh..
