Question

Yes I have searched

Just wondering now I've fitted my knocklink it doesn't seem to do much! I've sited it just under the throttle assembly and I've left it (as per instructions) on max sensitivity. However it doesn't even regester anything unless I am absolutely flat out (on private roads of corse)

(3rd gear)
4.5k bottom light blinks
6 bottom light on
6.5-7 2nd green light blinks

I very rarely rev that high but was trying to find if it worked or not.

Is this normal?

With someone sitting in the car take a "knocking tool" screwdriver, biro, whatever and tap near the sensor, your co pilot should then yell that a few lights have come on.........Obviously the harder you tap the more lights though don't tap the sensor directly.....

Have tried that and it does blink (as per instructions)...

I was wondering how many people leave on max sensitivity and dont get much activity?

Its a UK car, your map should be designed for our fuel.
If you don't have any big engine mods, you won't see much activity.

Unless the car is highly modded or you are ruuning it on meths you probably won't see much activity, which is a good thing, really. It means everything is safe.

I run a 97 UK turbo to 1.65 bar peak 1.5 held and I have only ever lit the second green even on max sensitivity, albeit with 100ml of NF per tank of Optimax everytime, uprated fuel pump, bigger turbo and intercooler etc.

I wouldn't worry if I were you. Worry when the DO start lighting!

Cheers

Rich
