Unhappy

I reckon that the g'box bearings are on their way out,it's started to become difficult to select reverse, crunches occasionally in 2nd or 3rd but lately has started to whine on power, most noticably at about 50-60 in top ,my question is
1: Is it almost certainly the 'box bearings?(could it be transfer box etc if it has one ? )
2: if so does anyone know a reliable place to replace said bearings and a rough guide to price ?
Many thanks for any reply
