Question

Say, for arguments sake, I was to fully decat the old MY00 Sport, what should I look out for re induction, AFR, lambda sensors, remap, rolling road setup, etc?

Have been offered some interesting pipework but have never done this sort of thing before...any (constructive) advise welcome

Cheers, Jon

Just fit it and enjoy
No need to worry about the other stuff.

I don't know about my neighbours but I sure will

AFAIK, decatting will mean I can expell the gases out quicker so should I match this with suitable induction?

If I increase the flow of air in, will it not run the risk of running lean or will the ECU automatically compensate for this?

I'm not looking for big BHP (ie more than 150 ) just a bit more pickup and a sweet rumble

I have a MY00 (turbo) and was told by Ian at H&S when he fitted my full de-cat that he has fitted hundreds upon hundreds of full de-cat systems and that they will cause no engine damage.
I have a ITG filter (the one that causes the MAF to fail) but I will soon be replacing this with a dry K&N soon. Can't say I noticed a difference between this and a standard filter to be honest.
Don't be to paranoid about getting the zorst, just do it.

an ITG panel filter will NOT cause MAF problems if you towel off any oil before fitting it, and make sure it is fitted correctly!

Cheers John

Just looking at Induction now...you say you are going for a K&N? I have looked at replacement panels such as Green and ITG but my beef is with the pipping leading to the airbox - very twisty and restricted.

Think I may go for the K&N 57i Gen2 kit as seen on Newport_White_scooby's Sport as it completely replaces the airbox and pipe work - does anyone know who sells these?

Should something go wrong, what is likely...ie can it run too lean and what effect would this have on the engine?

John - drop Ian@ScoobyExhausts.co.uk (Hayward & Scott) an email and he will do you a cracking (and popping) good deal

If you order now, he will bring the bits up to the NBO for you thus saving postage costs

Only got prices for Sport so don't know about your UK Turbo
