TSL Group N/Scoobysport. I have a TSL on my STi8 and a Scoobysport on our 03 WRX.

For the noise its gotta be the Blitz, although the firestorm is 'loud'

I have a Blitz Nur Spec and it's loud as ****!!!

If you don't want to go quite as loud how about an afterburner from scoobyworld.

I have a scoobysport backbox with a decat magnex centre section - the sound is just quality - not blazingly loud, just a really good meaty sound!

The scoob just has to be the best sounding car ever (for the money!)

Exclamation

HKS Hiper (My personal choice)
Apexi N1
'Pat' Special

Why these? They take the straightest path out of the car, loosing the two kinks by the backbox.

I second the HKS Hiper. The rumbling reverberates through your whole body.

LOL@John Coffey
Hows about a scaffolding pole bent to fit

Well pleased with my Afterburner system joined to a Scoobysport down-pipe. Just the noise i want. The rumble is such that i see people turning in the street way before i expect them to "but" its not stupidly noisey.

I could drive down to London no bother at all

However on acceleration between 1 and 4 thousand revs its like thunder - fantastic

Scoobysport - full decat. Schweet Nice and burbly at low revs, and a howl to wake the dead at high revs. I love it!
<mental note>...must get someone to follow me some time, so see if the car flames when the exhaust pops...</mental note>

Excellent. This might explain why tailgaters back-off occasionally after the exhaust has popped . A guaranteed recipe: hold at 3k rpm for a few seconds, allow to revs drop to about 2700/2800, wait a second or so - and POP! Second gear is perfect for 30mph-zone tailgaters.

Do it, scoobySTI/WRX. Scoobysport full decat exhaust system. You know you want to...

Talking

I tried a HKS Hiper on my otherwise standard STi5 Type RA, very loud

I now have a Scoobyworld Ninja backbox, I actually feel the car pulls stronger with this backbox more than it did with the HKS.

Kinda got the feeling the HKS was too free flowing.

The ninja is certainly the cheapest and the qaulity of the finish is as good as leading name exhausts IMO.

I have the HKS Hiper backbox with a ScoobySport downpipe. Lots of pops and bangs along with the occasional flame.

scientifically, no exhaust is the ideal set up on aturbo charged system as once the turbo is spinning zero back pressure is ideal.

Since this isnt feasible the best system to go for is the one with the lowest back pressure.

Off the shelf, the Hiper with bung removed is a good idea, but personally I would go for pats designed system, fabricated by haywards and scott, like the scoobysport and afterburner system were and are respectively.

He tested these on a flow bench and it did not register any back pressure! you can't say fairer than that!
