I just got a 1995 Subaru Impreza Coupe with AWD (lovely). I love the car, but the tranny just stopped working in 5th gear. 1st through 4th are fine, but it just slides into the 5th gear slot and it's like being in neutral.
Also, I can't rev the engine over 4100RPM in any gear including neutral.
Any suggestions?

 

I would get that looked at ASAP, it sounds like a loose bolt on the fifth gear
