Question

The HKS SSQV Dumpvalve has an adjuster on the back.
How do you tweak this to get the optimum setting?

Thanks.

I'm not familiar with that dumpvalve, but I would assume you just like kind off adjust it till everything is cool...

Seriously...if it sets the spring "stiffness", you should set it hard enough so that the car doesn't "stutter" on idle, and not so hard that there is a lot of chatter at high boost...but I assume you kind of knew this already...?

In that case, the default is probably about right.
Yes, it does adjust stiffness.
Just wondered if there was a tried and tested method of doing this.

Thanks,
James.

Results are in! tightening it down (3turns) seemed to make it dump slightly longer on both pistons and held the small piston in almost entirely when bliping on the downchange. Factory setting is just at the point where the screw has no effect on the spring at all, and to be honest i'm not sure i noticed any difference at all when messing about with it. 1 turn, 2 turn or 3turns in, at 3 turns in though even when changing really fast it never got lumpy (like it sometimes does). and with the capillary hose disconected full rally sound effects ensued (try it, apparantly is does the turbo no favours though). No change in lag there either.

MY99 HKS induction and 3" backbox.

Glad i'm getting a new turbo anyway coz i love that sound!
