Just remove your air filter and run the engine at about 3,000rpm and pour some sand in mate!

Well it is a way to port the headers... just it is best to remove then from the engine and do it!

Else it costs you an engine each time you do it

Explain Banker!

Well you asked for it Jolly!I had a noisey tappet on MY93 wrx,it had the early or legacy type head with the finger type of hydraulic lash adjuster, and not being able to identify which of the 8 tappets was noisey (and if indeed it might have been the head that was worn around the tappet)i deceided to replace the heads with the later bucket type. So with the engine out and in bits everthing was cleaned, polished ,painted and refitted and the inlet was sent away to be powder coated. 1 week later I had everthing ready and proceeded to rebuild ,new gaskets and seals and oh so much tlc that if was back in the car the following morning. Initial start up was great fired and ran straight away for only 4 or 5 seconds. After lots and lots of investigation and no compression the heads came of and what did I find (long wait please)sand! yes sand . Before painting my inlet manifold it was SAND blasted by them, unbenone to me not properley cleaned by them or me. The sit rep now is engine contaminated with grit induction side only and 2 cylinder bores scored by the pistons moving the grit back and forth when running . Im gutted . Any Help Much Appreciated p.s jolly this happened on the same day you posted about putting sand in my engine , so its your fault OK KARL

Oops...

Surely the place that did the heads / inlet for you should have warned you or cleaned it so you should have some come back on them?

Nightmare.. sorry about the engine..
