Question

Can overboost be caused by problems with your wastegate actuator, for example it sticking or something?

If so, how do you diagnose/fix it?

Reason for question is I'm getting crazy overboost on my MY99 with Dawes, 3inch exhaust K&N panel filter. I've cleaned the Dawes but to no avail. Could it be related to the hosing which comes with the dawes being rather flexible and probably distensible?

Cheers

Yip. If wastegate stuck, you could run into serious boost problems. I don't know dawes, so can't comment.

Upto 19.5psi when going from closed throttle to WOT at 3500rpm in 5th. My boost target is 16.5-17psi held. I've checked the pipes and they're in good condition other than being rather stretchy.
