Cool

I've got a Scorpion Imola 3.5 Tuner on my MY00 wagon (which IS the prodrive box) along with a Scoobysport DP.

No hassle, no overboost, no drilling restrictors runs sweet as a nut.

I had the downpipe lagged and it defo cuts down the noise. I used to run an SS BB but found combined with the DP a bit boomy on long journeys. The Scorpion/Prodrive pipe is a better compromise for me

IMHO you'll get the biggest gain performance wise from the DP rather than the mid+BB. Earlier spool up, wider torque band and revs to the redline.

Another good gain for me was changing my 802 ECU for an 801 ECU. I'd also like a Tek2 but am running a Dawes in the meantime

Hope this answers your concerns ... oh, the wife will notice but not much really. It's only with a WOT that the DP makes a major increase in noise.

Hamish.

Anyone done the above? Prodrive box with magnex non res centre at mo, nice and quiet 'til you boot it then "woohoo!!" Want to add a downpipe for more oomph. With this quiet set up and new downpipe, will it p**s the wife off, or won't she really notice? Is one design quiter than another?

Also does anyone else's "prodrive" box sit worryingly close to the rear valance?

Downpipe does make it louder.. currently got scoobysport downpipe and centre (no resonator) and backbox..

If you fit exhaust wrap it quietens down the downpipe noise in the car, all the noise on mine with this set up is from the back..

Wagons are louder inside due to the exhaust noise going through the boot area... and my wife is okay with it..

I would if buying again go for an open neck downpipe.. like Scoobysport or Hayward and Scott.. happy with mine..

Exhaust wrap is about £20 from Demon tweeks and other mail order places..

Thank you Mr Monster 2. If I havent melted my rear valance in the mean time, I'll follow your advise.

You do a search on here for downpipe and all this other stuff flies at you, like, over boost, the need to drill out waste gate restrictor by 1 billionth of a mm, boost spikes, boost guages, detting, waste gate chatter, wife chatter, etc.

Can you just lob one on, loose the odd knuckle and just enjoy it without worrying about all the other gubbins?

Thanks Hamish. Already swapped ropey AE802 for AE800. But like you I'm looking forward to the day when I can send old ropey to Doc Banks for the Tek treatment. Once downpipe is on. Christ, this is never ending.
