I have a 99 UK Turbo and I need some expert advice for what must be an old chestnut but I can't find the answer.

Ideally I would like to ditch both cats but will fail the emissions part of the MOT right?

So having seen the horrific size of the primary cat, would I be better ditching that and keeping the second cat?

I fear the only way to go is keep the briefcase sized primary?

Do most folk 'totally decatted' replace the cat annually for MOT's? I used to have a MR2 Turbo and that was a pig to change the downpipe on, but I hear it's easy on the Subaru?

Thanks

Mark

Downpipes not easy but the centre cat is'nt too difficult

I think most eventually remove both cats and either replace the centre or use a double cat (available at some Scoob specialists!) for the MOT.

I think the DP cat is the most restrictive. I never ran the car with just the centre cat so can't comment on any performance increase from just doing the DP.

Have a look in the Southern forum and find the East Sussex meet thread. get along there and you'll get some good advice. A really freindly bunch of guys and girls

Iain.
