i am looking at getting a VF35 turbo for MY01 which as got PPP and de-catted apart from upipe and is currently running at 254bhp,what would benefits be from putting this turbo on without any more mods to the engine. Also if i was to change from PPP to ecutek as well what sort of bhp would i be looking at and would i need bigger injectors and fuel pump?any help would be grateful as i dont know which route to take.

The injectors are holding you back on the "normal" WRX! You could gain quite some HP, but you donīt need a bigger turbo for that. A decent remap of the ECU will do the trick. If you want to achieve 300 HP or more you should think about a bigger turbo, injectors, fuel pump, etc.

The VF35 spools up really well with 1 bar at 2650 on a few STis I've done although it can cross the surge line before 4000 RPM if you get too exited thereafter. Maybe the AVCS helps, but it doesn't seem that far off the TD04 for spool up, the other issue is that it doesn't exactly pull particularly hard at the top end and seems to run out of puff at about 310-320 BHP - seems comfortable holding 1.2 bar at 6000 RPM but not really any more. If you want a really big gain in power you may want to consider a turbo a little bigger like a TD05 which is far stronger if you are willing to run the boost - makes 1 bar about 100-150 RPM later but is quite happy holding 1.5 bar at 6000 RPM if you trust your engine to hold together doing this or rather your gearbox running 1.5 bar midrange which broke mine. But of course it needs all the supporting hardware - injectors, fuel pump, remap, ideally better intercooling to make the most out of it and run it safely.
You really want to do that uppipe as well

With a remap (or additional electronic), you can get up to 280 HP on MY01 with correct relaibility, and even more than 300HP (dangerous for the engine), all with your current configuration. Some of us are running 320 HP !
But be sure that 280 HP is the limit for your stock injectors. If you go for injectors upgrade, then you will need a remapp.
If you change your turbo for a TD05 or VF23 (both are best choice for MY01), the same rules apply as long as you want more than 280 HP and reliability.
