Could anyone give me any advice on APS Turbos, was looking at the SR40, want the turbo to be able to happily cope with 360-370 bhp.

Give chris a ring at g-force motorsport or jamie at jw racing, these guys deal with APS products and should be able to tell you what they can do.

I spoke to both of them today, jamie at J-W Racing was most helpfull. I was just after some info off people who were actualy running one. Also spoke to Lateral Performance, anyone running one of their hybrids, sounds most tempting!! Some one must have some info either good or bad on theses turbos??!!

Honestly the the APS seem like a good deal for the 30 and 40 turbos. But no better I would say than a new Hybrid from Lateral or BR Developments.

The biggest selling point for the hybrids is they can be tweaked to further suit your needs if not right first time round. I don't think you would get so far with the APS stuff, but you may be happy with it straight away.

Lots of people are running the Lateral or BRD sources Hybrids, expect an easy 340hp with VF hybrids such as the MD304 or MD254, more like 360hp if you go the whole hog with headers and so on.

The MD309 (can't remember the BD equivalent) has been proven to 380+hp but should go for over 400 with a tweaked setup according to the folklore!

The latest range of Garret turbos with VF turbine housings offered buy Lateral, BRD and even iON performance in Canada are great. Something along those lines has been proven to 465hp on Bob Rawle's car, 420+ on Harvey's and recently purchased by a number of other people of late.

APS is possibly cheaper at the moment and not a bad buy, but best to speak to existing customers. But I would personally go for a Garret/VF something from Lateral or BRD, much the same products but preferences may come down to time and location, both very reputable companies to deal with.

Hi!

It was great to talk to you today!

I have ran one on my STI UK and I will be fitting it again very soon. I know you would probably like a more unbiased report but if you'd like to call me or for me to call you, I can tell you as much as I can. The SR40 is designed to work in 350-450 BHP applications, so it will certainly handle the figures you speak about.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Jamie

Have been running APS SR40 brought from Jamie for about 4 months.
Now running with TEK3 on STi7.
You will have no problem getting those figures providing it is well mapped.
