I suspect (ie total guess) it's a similar compressor wheel as found in the MD309, shoehorned into a front entry TD05 with some porting of the exhaust housing and wastegate.

TD05/06 is another alternative which with careful boost mapping looks like the business, similar price too.

Paul

edited to say TD05 not TD06, duuuh.

then why not go one better...

(Lateral Performance MD320 to save you asking)

Why did I sell it.. oh I remember.. becuase I went silly and felt left out by these 500bhp conversions..

Why didnt I just stick with the above and save loads of money

Anyway the person that bought it... Have you fitted it yet???

No idea Alan, all I know is that the "rated" power is in the same ball park.

you would have to speak to mark (as I dont work for him ), but It was suprisingly priced.. (I supplied mark with a TD05, However it was a fair few months late)

Depends what a td05 costs you I suppose... They can be prone to cracking so check before you buy one..

What's the outside diameter of the inlet where the inlet pipe fits onto on the MD320?

Hmmm

I'd like to know how these 'small' compressor housings are supposed to compliment the flow from the big wheel that's carved into them ?

PS Out of the 20 odd TD05's I have handled, not one had any cracks....anywhere !

Andy,

You're lucky. I've had 3 with cracked exhaust housings. None of which could be identified until they were stripped for re-building.

Mark.

Whatever the price of the turbo is, less whatever the cost that I bought a sti4 engine in leeds for on marks behalf, then the cost for stripping it and boxing it up. (for someone to collect on his behalf)

So go figure.. (Rough Translation.. I Paid more than you will get quoted... as i bunged mark some extra cash as he didnt charge me straight away due to my finacial problems at the time)

Mark

Maybe we don't drive them as hard in Scotland Most of the exhaust housings I've done have been ported including the wastegate and I have had no cracked ones.
A few have had damaged compressor wheels but cores/turbine/casings were fine.
Even on high mileage units, the radial movement of the shaft has been within 0.002" of a fully rebuilt core. Tough little burgers

Question

Andy, do i take it from your 2 posts in this thread refering to the quantity of TD05's YOU have handled and converted, that you are doing these for other people?
