I have been offered an STi 7 back box to go on my MY02 WRX. Was just wondering if it would give me any power increase and improve the exhaust note? Is there any one out there who has done this before, or am I wasting my time and money?

The only thing it improves are the looks so keep your money is my advice!!!! (They are worth about £100 absolute tops as they are only mild steel, the same as what you have now - The options below are stainless steel!!)
You either want a WR Sport backbox (£350 from your Subaru dealer or around £150 secondhand on here) or a Scoobysport one

Good luck

Nick

P.S: I started off with a WR Sport backbox on my MY01 WRX and it gave the car a nice burble and wasn't too intrusive!! Now have a full Scoobysport system which sounds superb but is noisier!!

I wonder if this is my backbox? I have just agreed to swap my sti7 backbox for the prodrive one off my MY02?

Bit of a coincidence!

So the WR Sport backbox is a good buy then?

Just trying to nail down what options I want so I can order my MY03 and am looking to replace the standard one, but want to retain all warranty etc....

Sorry, my mistake. I'd go for the WR Backbox.
