Hi,

I'm off to my first track day in May and was thinking that I ought to add octane booster rather than use 97 or 98 RON standard fuel ?

Can anyone recommend some wicked stuff ?

Scoobyscene's graphs show the best RON increase to be using NF (Nitrous Formula) Octane Booster ....

Also, does anyone know if you can add too much just out of interest ?

And do you have to vary the amount of booster you add depending on which octane standard fuel you are using ?

Appreciate any help,

Cheers
Alex

Hi Dizzy,

Well yeh on scoobyscene they say 5ml per litre...but they don't say what kind of litre..i.e.a litre of 95RON or a litre of 97RON ...I've heard you don't need to add as much to 97 or 98 RON as you do with 95 RON which makes sense I suppose.?

NF Race (the black bottle) 60mil per tank of petrol (60L)minimum. I run 60-100mil per tank for the road, 120-150 on track. No you can't put in too much ( within reason)

Millers Octane Booster is much cheaper at about £2.70 a bottle in Brighouse

I use this in my Audi

I use NF Booster in the Scoob on every fill up.. I use a full bottle... Its expensive but if it saves the engine.... I use a full bottle as I'm running much more advance than a std Scoob.. if yours is standard you'd get away with usig Millers on Track.. or a smaller amount of NF

Better to be safe than sorry on track... with the engine heat more likely to make the car prone to dett use Optimax before track and then depending on petrol at the track put in up to a full bottle of NF

Get in touch with Chris King at Scoobyscene and he will sort you out with some suppliers. m advice is to buyn a fair bit as it always comes i useful..

Not sure which Millers I use..... whatever it was I used it on the decatted Scoob and use it also on the Catted Audi.. and I'm sure it was Millers Plus

NF goes through Spark plugs quickly

So either way there's no real difference sounds like ! You just have to add more using Millers than NF. Cool...ok so for the track I shall invest seriously in some Booster ! Nice one !

You'll get away with a bottle of Millers at track or a proportion of the NF

You only need a full bottle of NF if you are running loads of Ignition advance/Boost

I just checked the Millers Bottle - its the Millers plus and I use a full bottle on every fill up with an Audi Turbo, and its Catted.. No probs in the last year... oh and the car is chipped
