Question

Guys

I already have the Super Dragger in place centre and BB and now want to get rid of the horrible OEM downpipe for a ScoobySport one. Will this fit OK??

When fitting the centre I had to remove the original flange from the down pipe so the HKS just bolted straight on. Does the SS DP have this flange??
Car is a UK MY98

Thanks

My knowledge on downpipes is new.. but I thought I would post so it goes back to the top and someone else might be able to confirm.

The normal Scoobysport downpipe is a 3inch to 2.5inch downpipe so it mates with a standard size system.. I believe the HKS Super Drager is a 3inch system.. so you would benefit most from fitting a 3inch downpipe.. Haward & Scott can make you one and so can Scoobysport I believe.. Haward & Scott advertise on the banners and Scoobysport you know about. /cost is similar to 2.5 I think.

Just avoid the HKs downpipe as for some reason it blocks off the wastegate.

I know nothing of the flange but the 3inch should bolt straight to your HKS.

Monkeyboy

Our standard downpipe was used by two UK owners, in conjunction with the HKS centre and rear on UK cars that produced over 345bhp. One produced 357bhp.

Keeping the 2.5" taper has virually no effect on power, but does give good turbo spool up.

One of our own UK WRX's has a full standard Scoobysport exhaust and is also producing 350+ bhp.

We can do you a complete 3" down pipe for the same price as a 2.5" with the splitter ,if wanted.

I have this set-up on my MY99 and I've very happy with it. Mine is the 2.5" Downpipe mated to the Super Drager

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?
Post

dont get 2.5... get the 3"

HKS is 3" so why put a restriction in the middle.

If there's only a iddle likkle TD04 turbo, isn't a good idea to bring it in lower (2.5" restriction) than leaving it in for later up the rev range when it's not up to much anyway?
From my complicated graphs (here), the 2.5" seems to only become a restriction at 4,000+, at which the TD04 is getting into the 'a bit pants' area anyway. And the 2.5" only is a restriction over, ooo, 320bhp+ anyway, isn't it? And there are benefits to bringing the boost down the range... obviously those graphs are from a different car/different set-up, but the principle should stay the same.
All just IMHO, of course!

Nom

I agree that there's no point in going to 3" on a stock turbo. Janspeed have flow tested our full system as good for at least 335bhp but the downpipe design allows this piece to flow considerably more than this.

Saying that, a theoretical limit of 335bhp hasn't stopped us getting nicely over 350bhp from a WRX with our full system (2.5") and the limit is the injectors that are currently fitted, not the exhaust.

*edit - damn my grammer*

The 350 B.H.P WRX car in question is running a Hayward and Scott designed 4-1 tubalar manifold and exhaust incoperating a splitter in the down pipe as suggested by Pat who did the mapping

The owner did try your manifold, but decided that the car is just too laggy with it and has asked for it to be removed. Your downpipe with splitter didn't fit, so remains in the owners boot, unused
