Hi all,

I removed my I/C and the little tube that holds the restrictor the other day and found a little amount of oil / lube in this area.

Do I have to be concerned or is a little normal ?

The I/C had a little on the piece that slides into the rubber coupling that attaches it to the manifold and the restrictor tube contained a little as well, which looked like oil to me.

What cuases this and is it a big deal ?

Cheers,
Ray

Hi Ray

The crankcase vapours vent into this pipe and its normal to find some oil residue in the pipe and in the intercooler.

Thanks Pete your a star....I can sleep better now

With all the worries with these STI-7's I rarely drive now without concern even though I have numerous deltadash logs with everything in the clear....such is life I guess......hopefully after the new oil pump and remmap for my climate and 98 RON I will drive me car a little harder. Rarely do I see over 6,500 rpms now even though I have the Jap spec that is good for 8,000 rpms becuase I am so worried...with the current map anything over 6,500 - 7,000 rpms seems like a waste anyway....runs out of steam...

Thanks again,
Ray
