Just wondering what is the difference between tek 2 & Tek 3??

I understand that the Tek 2 is right for a fully decatted WRX.

How is this different from Scoobysports' Tek3 Full decat map??

Just want to make sure i go for the right/best map for the car.

Cheers

Bob

Very simply, Tek 2 is a generic map which safely suits standard cars and is benefited further by simple upgrades eg exhaust + filter. Tek 3 is customised for your specific car taking into acount uprated turbo, intercooler, anything you may have - and more power is the result. Someone else is going to have a lot more detail but thats my understanding.

Bobby

All cars that come to us for this work have a custom SSmap3, so its perfectly optimised to the car and its mods.

The SSmap2 is for mail order and is slightly detuned, as we cannot check the operation of it, once installed. The greater safety margin allows for climates and altitudes that are very different to our own and for exhaust mods that may not allow the gas flows that the SSmap3 requires.

Outputs are very good with both options, but bringing the car in allows us to safely extract a bit more

Is a knock link advisable once the car has been 'treated' ?

The article in this months Jap Performance mag 2.2l conversion on the yellow Impreza had 2 (or 3) cases of detonation, but didn't have the Tek treatment.

Stan

Its not necessary to have one fitted but can provide some peace of mind that everything is in order.

Entirely up to you.
