What ECU/Re-Map do people recommend ??

I have a 96 Type RA and would like to monitor the ecu and have in-car real time alteration if this is at all possible ????

Any one developed something like this for the 96 ???

I have a Superchip but lots of people have told me not to fit it as it's a waste of money ????

Cool

Most ppl on here seem to like Gems or Link (possumlink) Dont know if many ppl hold them for your age cars (or mine (MY96) ).

I think you have to ask yourself what you want for your "realtime" readouts? most usefull "realtime" details can be obtained from Defi's.
[edited to ALTERATION!!! the my99/00's can be remaped but I wouldnt want to do that as you really have to know what your doing, I think John Banks used to do it though Do a search for Ecuteck?!]

Every thread I've read definatly recomends not fitting the Superchip as all these do is fool the ecu about the boost pressure forcing it up but it also completely removes the FCDefence which is VERY bad. Sure I'll get shot down in flames in a mo by someone who actually knows what there on about.

ps. I use a Dawes device to allow me to up the boost slightly and give a MUCH faster peak (£35). but you will have to get a boost gauge and AFR meter (and maybee a knocklink). The

You can add a Motec or Gems and Stack dash, that will work guaranteed if correctly mapped by a pro, but it's very expensive.

Your best bet would be to check if an APEX'i Power FC is available for your car. Works straight away (pre-programmed), is programmable, displays ECU info with the FC Commander.

Yes an apexi power FC is available for that car and although not cheap, is the best way to go. Ring us on 01704 822848 and we can have a talk in more detail about what you require.
