1st & 2nd gear not meshing properly...
#1
I've got a MY93 WRX with the following problem:-
If I try and make a fast gearchange between 1st & 2nd, the cogs don't seem to want to mesh straight away but after a brief pause for the revs to dies away, it goes in no probs. Slow gearchanges are no problem. Also, if I'm slowing right down for a red light and try to put it into 1st just before stopping, it also doesn't like it. The car has to be stationary with the revs low before it'll go in to 1st.
Is this a gearbox and/or clutch problem and what will it need to fix? Whatever it is, I have a feeling it will be expensive.
I've got the insurance/tax/MoT/parking permit/4 new tyres all coming up in the next month or so. As the car is probably only worth £4-5k and I plan to sell it August, it might be worth getting rid of.

syncros are on the way out/gone, people on here have had a bit of luck changing the gearbox oil (Castrol Syntrax is one of the best to go for) might be worth it for 30-40 quid, otherwise it's not so cheap
