Question

i have a 93 wrx wagon .

i have just purchased a scooby sport full decat system turbo back from a guy s/hand. i notice that there is one blanked off hole right on the base of the downpipe. can any one tell me what this should do on the o/e system and whether i need to consider anything when swapping the exhaust systems over. all help is gratefully received. is it a lamda sensor or a cat heat sensor? obviously i am junking the cat.

cheers

do you mean the prev owner had blanked it off with a bolt or something?, on my 94 wrx the lambda sensor (from original d/p) bolts into the hole in the decat d/p

94WRX's do not have a Lambda sensor in the downpipe it is mounted in the headers/manifold..
What they do have is a 'Cat on fire' sensor which is normally disgarded when fitting a Decat DP..
When your Standard DP is removed, unplug the wire that goes to the sensor at the bottom of the DP and tie it out of the way...
Scoobysport downpipes used to come with a hole near the top of the DP which is for UK cars which have the Lambda sensor in the top of the STD DP, Jap owners normally get this hole blocked by welding it closed, or screwing in a bolt to block it...

bttt

the decat pipe has no hole in it - just the one blanked off at the bottom of the down pipe.
