Question

I have had my MY99 Impreza Turbo for about a month and resisted modifying it for about a week before I had bought a afterburner exhaust and clear side repeaters! I am currently toying with the idea of buying an atmospheric dump valve. I realise performance gains from this modification are not worth mentioning but we all know thats not why people buy 'em! I dont think i can stretch to a HKS or Blitz and i have read stories of certain dump valves causing engine problems or affecting performance. Can anyone recommend something suitable? Forge? Baileys? TSL? etc..

I just got a forge, and if fitted properly, its quite nice. Not too loud at all, which I like, and no running probs. My fuel consumption has definately gone up a little. With a full decat you hear a few pops too.

Thumbs up

Yep I'll agree with DBM, not too loud but make sure you get the BLUE spring or you'll just get a wrc 'chatter'.

Had my Forge on for about a month now & had no probs what so ever!

I have had my Forge VTA DV on for about 6 months without any problems. Several "experts" on Scoobynet have warned of possible problems, so I asked a very experienced engine tuner at PE and he said ther is nothing to worry about. A VTA DV does cause a momentary richening of the AFR when it dumps, but that is not a problem. Some people notice a slight stuttering if you partially lift offf the throttle and then come back on, but I have not noticed this.

Hope this helps.
