STi ECU on UK Scoob = 280 bhp?
#1
Probably very stupid question but if I put an ECU from say STi 5 or 6 will that upgrade the power of my engine (UK MY00) to 280 bhp?
Will this upgrade last more than a few minutes before the engine goes bang?
On the other hand if this works why bother with PPP, Link, Superchip, etc...?

Doesn't work. The cam and crank position sensors are swapped around, different cams, turbo, intercooler, internals with higher rev limit, possibly a different ignition offset, mapped for 100-102 RON fuel, no intake temperature on UK, different restrictor for wastegate control.

Only signal from crank and cams swaped? I have Sti (now in process of rebuilding to LHD) and thinking about running STi engine on UK turbo wiring and STi ECU. If i swap 2 wires it will work properly?

Very possibly that is all. The intake temp sensor doesn't seem to be used by the STi ECU, not sure if the STi ECU complains if it is not there. MRTrally.com.au has a Link manual downloadable with wiring diagrams. I can certainly flash reprogram STi ECUs using my UK car but they do not start the car and I would not want them to.
I am referring to 99/00 cars - don't know anything about the other ones as these are all I have looked at in any detail at all, and all that I work on.
