can anyone tell me if fitting a de cat pipe plus magnex backbox w ill cause me problems when i get too the mot,emissions for example,any advice greatly appreciated.

You will have no problems passing the MOT if you only replace the centre pipe and backbox, but leave your downpipe cat in place provided that's working properly. This is exactly the setup I have got on my car and it has passed both it's MOT without any bother. If however you're referring to the downpipe being decatted (for much greater performance gains) your car may well fail it's MOT unless you put in a special more efficient centre cat. Having said that, I have heard of Impreza passing on the standard UK cars centre cat alone (many imports don't have a centre cat) after it's been well warmed up. It would be touch and go though.
