could just be the return springs ?
try lifting it up with your foot.. does it work then ?

try taking the intercooler off and having a look. should be 2 springs (in parrallel) hooked onto the clutch lever arm

bleeding is easy. small bleed nipple on the rear n/s bulkhead (where the pipes seem to go all over the place back & forward!)

Unhappy

Anyone had any probs with their clutch pedal?
Mines all the way to the floor, looks like either the clutch master or slave cylinder has gone.are they easy to bleed ?
Any advice greatly accepted.
Dremel.

Tried lifting pedal with foot, but when presed again, goes to floor. Can only just feel any pressure when pedal almost to the floor.
Only 1 spring evident when removed intercooler.
Slave piston appears to take a long time to return, if not at all.
Getting another master cylinder tomorrow.

ok - good luck.
let me know how you get on!

I also get a similar problem under mid-heavy braking - the predal only 'works' on the bottom inch or two of travel. you have to release it TOTALLY, then press again & all is well, but ONLY after releasing the brake!!!
mite try a MRT brake support bracket.

Wink

i had the sme problem on mine, and im sorry to say that a new master cylinder didnt make any difference. you may not have lost a spring either from underneath the cooler, mine only had one on like yours, guess it depends on year and model (mines a 94 wrx). i replaced this spring with two beefier springs, and alas this made no difference either. try attaching a spring inside the car from the clutch pedal itself to soemwhere underneath the dash, so that the spring returns the pedal for you. this way you will be able to tell whether the clutch is at least still functioning. mine would park itself about half way down, and not return any further, allowing the clutch to slip. but fitting the inside spring did the job, and now all is well 7000 miles on. dont ask me why they do it, but its a common problem as i found out when it happened to me.

also i would recommend bleeding/ replacing your fluid, if for no other reason than its the cheapest/ easiest place to start.

hope it works out for youy matey, cos it did my head in for weeks before i came up with a homemade solution.

matt.
