Question

Does anyone know the split of the drive fed to the FWD and REAR diffs on a STI 7 ?

Is it 50% each to the front and rear ?

Thanks

standard set up is 60/40, the rear getting the better share. And before you ask, no not really possible to adjust as preset by the viscous centre coupling, only way to alter is by putting a lockable centre "rally" diff in.

Actually, if it's the epicyclic electronic adjustable diff, its closer to 67:33 rear:front.

unless you have the epi cyclic as moray says, the subaru centre diff will give a 50:50 split.

I heard that there was only a 70/30 percent chance of that being correct

If the car is not running an epicyclic centre differential, then i would imagine the torque distribution is actually 50:50 front:rear. I heard something about UK cars running different front and rear shaftspeeds to echeive different torque aportionment, however I didnt ever hear some really convincing evidence of this definitely being the case.

Scoobyslut may be able to give a more definite explanation of what is going on.
