Did I Fly - Centre Diff Tightness?
#1
During a slight detour on the way home from work I happened to find myself on a local road notorious for having several humps and dips in the road. As I went over one of these at a brisk pace I got what I thought was a nice bit air . The things that made me think this were a lightness sensation, the revs rising, a rather noticeable landing and a nasty sounding scrape (which I think was my low-hanging Blitz being "christened" ).
However, I was thinking that all these noises/sensations could have occured if only the front wheels had come off the ground depending on how tight my MY99 centre diff is. Can anyone tell me whether it's loose enough to allow the front wheels to spin on their own and let the revs rise like this?

You may now, be noticing a strange whine coming from diff/final drive type areas on your car
Do not attempt to get 'air' in these cars, the drive train will complain. You may get away with it if you dip the clutch before landing, but I'm not trying it.
Oh and don't try other rally type 'antics' like water splash experiences......It don't like it 'up 'em'...

No, there doesn't seem to be a whine coming from it so hopefully I've got away with it. It's the first time I've tried it which is why I was asking the question.
Anyone else with any info?
Was driving like a Grandma through the puddles/lakes last week - especially after a friend's car (non-Scooby) stopped running after going through a puddle quickly!
