STI7 Replacement downpipes
#1
Hi,
Hae an STI7 with a scoobysport back box and mid cat removed with a scoobyport straight through.
I still have the reasonator in place.
I'm now looking into changing the downpipe as I hear it will increase the performance but I dont want anymore exhaust noise.
Can any1 recommend what to go for?
also I dont want these spiking issues I am reading about.
cheers,
Dave.

Hiya.I've always found that the backbox makes most noise, the DP should'nt really add much.I've also laid high quality thick carpet underlay in the boot(£20) this cuts noise by at least 30% and alters the quality to make it less harsh. If you add the DP you will have to change the restrictor to 1.25(for most cars) to prevent massive boost spikes.Mine has the full SS system inc uppipe and with the restrictor has 1.25 max boost.

thanks for the reply m8e,
what differences have you noticed in performance as I was thinking of having the s/s downpipe put in/
Also where did u gt the carpet from?
