Question

Have MY99 Turbo and recently upgraded BB to Prodrive. Want to put a Scoobysport downpipe on it but need help on following questions please:

1) The original center section with cat will obviously stiffle the enhancement of the new downpipe but to what extent? ie is it worth replacing DP without decating?

2) Will it go through MOT?

Thanks
Andy

Power Engineering claim that their centre section with sports cat will always pass MOTs. I don't have any reason to doubt them. I have an APS system with sports cat in the downpipe on my MY02, and it hasn't set off the Catalyst Inefficiency Check Engine Light, so I'm pretty happy that will be emmission compliant too. If your cat is in the middle, you will definitely have to make sure it is will warmed up before the MOT though

The scoobysport downpipe will make things a bit noisier, which many see as a good thing, though some don't. It will certainly make the turbo spool up at lower revs, which everyone agrees is a good thing. The standard downpipe blanks off the wastegate, nearly all aftermarket downpipes let the wastegate breathe; that is worth a lot.

Changing the centre later would make a bit more difference, but not half as much as the downpipe.

Does that help? Plenty of other comments if you do a search.
