d/pipe cat overheat sensor

I am swapping on a P1 d/pipe onto a Forester d/pipe. The Forester has a sensor which I presume is to alarm when the cat gets too hot, but the P1 d/pipe doesn't have this.
Do I need to have this sensor working or just hook it out the way?

My cat heat sensor is in my garage!!, just plug the hole with a big bolt.
