Turbo spool up - again

I know this has been asked before because I have searched for previous threads, please bear with me as I have a minor variation to ask about.
It looks like the way to go is a downpipe and maybe Dawes, has the perceived wisdom changed?
If I go for the downpipe can anybody suggest which one is quietest as the wife thinks the SS back box is loud enough already (yes I know but at least I got to buy the car). I don't mind being louder on acceleration just not while cruising.
Car is an MY99 with a Scoobysport backbox and ITG filter.
Any help appreciated.

Having been there and done that, the SS DP and SSBB are quite with the standard centre. However the magnex resonated is a little louder than this.IMHO.
Put some carpet underlay in your boot to absorb the noise instrusion from the BB.

P20SPD,
I was considering getting one of the Noisekiller kits, partly for noise and partly to make the doors sound less cheap. Trying the underlay in the back first is a good idea though, if I can reduce the volume a bit I might get away with the DP.
Thanks.
