Question

Will a P1 engine block be ok to put into my STI5 type r without having to change ECU's and stuff????

there may be a problem with cam and crank position sensor wiring if you do swap the ecu...

P1 and STi 5 ECUs are interchangable which suggests that electronically the engines are except any differences with ancillaries. The P1 ECU would not be a bad idea anyway, and easier to source when you get the P1 block (and safer than an STi ECU). Can't think of any issues with your proposal, but I am more electronics/ECU inclined. One thing though - are there any issues with ABS/diffs which may/may not affect you?
