Urgent, diff help
Hi
Got my car booked in on the 14th to have clutch changed, my prob is my diff is really noisey and grabby through the wheel when turning at low speed
. While the box is off I want to get the diff changed for the standard one I have, or the one i've got (plate diff) adjusted, it's a Kaaz diff from USA & I contacted them & found they sell them 100% locked (which is why it's noisey etc).
I've got drawings of the kaaz internals and also instructions to rearrange the plates for more slip.
I was getting one garage to do the clutch and I was gonna take the gearbox to someone else (who is only person i've spoken to that knows about the diff work) but think they might let me down coz i arranged to meet them today but they weren't there, and I can never get hold of them on the phone, and I'm worried that on the day of clutch change they'll let me down which can't happen as my car will be in bits in another garage waiting 4 the box.
So I've resigned myself to leaving the diff like it is
, or perhaps, if anyone knows I could adjust it myself? or any other specialists in Kent?
James

They sell them 100% locked???? Why the hell do they do that? If anyone wanted a locked diff, they would just weld it up. Very primitive.
I think Mark A/R19 KET knows someone who can build gearboxes. Im sure he could point you in the right direction. It is difficult to find people do so that sort of work reliably.
