Thinking it was down too the leaky standard re-circ dump valve on my 97 UK car, I replaced it with a Forge VTA. However I still get the noise when cold, although it dissapears when warmed up. I'm thinking maybe a loose/split hose somewhere.

Anything else it could be?

Drex, Phill had this on his MY00 (babber) cant for the life of me remember what was causing it though, I know exactly the noise you mean. Have you got aircon ? It was possibly a split pipe on that but not sure I'll call him now and ask him.

Maybe you need a stronger spring for the VTA valve, it could still be leaking slightly

If you remember rightly I never got it fixed and handed the car back with it still making the noise!! I'm sure someone else on here said it was a leaking DV

Yeah I've heard it is the dump valve, that's why I swapped I got a Forge VTA. I'll get a stronger spring and see if that cures it. Babber, do you still wnat me to get you some springs? Which ones do you want?

Isn't your D/V completely different to mine? The later ones mount onto the I/C dont they?
