Dump Valves?...
#1
Hello,
Just a quick question for anyone...
I've just ordered a TurboXS dump valve (one of the loudest ones) from http://www.impossible-performance.cwc.net/turboxs_contect.htm,
has anyone else ever heard or fitted one of these to their Scooby?
Also does anyone know how much boost/Psi a standard 1998 Turbo 2000 is running? Hopefully, i should have my new dump valve fitted soon and let you know how it goes/soundz.

about 0.8/0.9 bar I think.
IMHO dump valves are just noise no real performance gain and can sometimes screw up fueling but thats just my opinion. Some people like them, some people use them to richen the mixture. Seems a lot of money for a whoosh sound but there you go I like private plates guess it depends what floats ya boat.

I personally noticed a very very slight difference to performance asfter fitting a Bailey DV to MY95.
Anything which reduces spool-up time in my eyes has to increase acceleration.

The prices for TurboXS dump valves start at £109.95 from Impossible Performance for a "Type-s", the most expensive one is £169.95 for the LOUD "Type-h RFL" (plus about £30/40 for the fiting kit, depending on which model you have). It took my local garage about 40 minutes to fit my Type-h RFL. The only problem the fitter had was finding a good place to put the DV, eventually used the supplied bracket and attached it to the right side of the intercooler.
Like the advert says it is very loud, even when lifting my foot off accelerating it whooooooooooooooshs in any gear even at low speed. This is my first turbo'd car i've ever had and im still impressed... ;o) I havent gota dig'camera yet so cant post any pics'... might have to borrow one and then post ;o)
