which clutch?

my clutch is getting a bit smelly now and again (ie hill starts), could this be an indication that im gonna need to replace it soon?
if so what are my options?
how much is an AP one and is it worth/advisable to fit this type?
car is an MY98 UK turbo with 49K on the clock

He knows a fair bit about the riht clutches to choose, after all his clutch is as usable as any other I have driven but manages to hold on to more power than any other uk impreza.
IIRC price is competative to your every day stamdard or AP clutches
