As far as I am aware there have been some issues fitting jap exhausts to bugeyes, does anyone know if Blitz NUR spec backbox will go straight on the STI ?

No problem with the back box NUR SPEC. The problem concerns the Nur Spec "R" or the Nur Spec "V".

My Sti 7 sounds abolutely brilliant with the Blitz back box.

We are now two Sti French owners to have bought from the UK this back box and are so happy with it.

I've got a blitz nur spec R fitted to my STi7 . The backbox fitted no problem. To fit the centre pipe to a Type UK you need a link pipe to join the 3" centre to the 2.5" downpipe ....not a problem on the JDM ones I believe (but stand to be corrected).

Very very happy with it and feel it gives me what the car had previously been missing. Not gonna bother with PPP now.

Markus,

The Blitz dealer told me that a Blitz R could not fit on a French or UK Sti (catas are not the same, the UK/French exhaust being shorter at the intermediate level) and you must therefore "cut" the Blitz R to fit on a non Japan Sti.

Is it wrong ?

Jap cars have a different downpipe, and UK cars have the extra cat, so to put a Nurspec R onto a Type UK you will need a link (because you will be removing the 2nd cat by fitting the Nurspec R), JW Racing have the link and can answer any questions.

As Big Goon says, I got mine from Jamie at JW Racing. Didn't have to cut anything. To fit the Nur Spec R to the Type Uk you need a new link pipe between the centre and downpipe and the lambda sensor needs a little bit of rerouting to fit but very straightforward. The link pipe is available from Jamie too. Think it took about an hour to fit the exhaust.

There was a group buy being organised recently but I bought mine just before that . Servicce from Jamie was excellent with the exhaust arriving the day after I ordered it!! From memory I paid £550 for the Nur spec R and another £85 for the link. Give Jamie a call to see if he has any in.

I don't regret it one bit and have had the bung out of the exhaust the whole time . Its loud but I have got used to it.

Very interesting : my information was not correct.

It is too late for me (I have just a Blitz back box) but do you believe that there is a big difference between just the back box and the "R", concerning noise and performance.

I guess the answer is yes since the second catas must be quite restrictive.

Thanks a lot for your helpfull comments.
